The Character Therapist

I'm so excited to be featured on Jeannie Campbell's website, Meet the Therapist. Well, it's not really me that's featured. It's the main character in my very first novel! (Can you hear the childlike enthusiasm?) His name is Jason Reece. Currently, his story is called, "Broken". You can read some details on Jeannie's blog. I'm thrilled with the diagnosis Jeannie made about Jay, although I do have to share how hard her truths were for him to read. I'm encouraged because much of the advice she gave seems "dead on". As a newbie to this writing process, sometimes I feel really lost. I've been immersing myself in "how to" books and blogs for guidance. I embarked on this journey back in May, never having written anything except my private journals. Too often it feels like a huge endeavor, but my family has been so supportive and encouraging.

My story started back in May, when I woke from a dream that I couldn't forget. I started writing details in-- what else? -- my journal. The story has morphed into something I just never expected! I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about the creative writing process: the good, the bad, and the ugly! When I have moments where I want to give up, my biggest cheerleader pushes me forward! Thanks,Sista!

I am in the process of creating a new website where I plan to blog about my writing process as a newbie. One of my goals is to feature other bloggers and websites, like Jeannie's Character Therapist, especially those who have been instrumental in teaching, advising, encouraging me about writing. There are many of you and you don't even know it! Time to change that! Until it's up and running, I am going to blog more here. Thanks for stopping by!
